A freeway shooting was reported on September 17, with no injuries sustained. According to the CHP Hayward report, officers assigned to the CHP Hayward Area office were advised of the incident that unfolded on northbound Interstate 880 (I-880) south of Davis Street.

Occurring roughly at 1:45 A.M., the victim managed to narrowly escape harm as their vehicle was struck by two rounds fired during the shooting. As the investigation is still underway, the CHP Hayward Area office has yet to identify a suspect.
