A 12-year-old boy was arrested on October 9, for attempted murder following a violent altercation that resulted in the stabbing of another minor at Central Park, based on information from the San Mateo Police Department.
The incident, which happened at 8:21 p.m., left the victim to suffer a left-side stab wound. Officers swiftly responded to the emergency call, administering first aid to the victim pending the arrival of paramedics. The suspect to managed escape the scene on a bicycle. Prompt actions by witnesses and the investigative efficiency of officers led to the identification of the suspect, a San Mateo resident.
During the search, the authorities spotted the suspect on the 800 block of North Humboldt Street and succeeded in his arrest. The suspect, subsequently booked into Hillcrest Juvenile Hall, now faces charges of attempted murder.
As the investigation is underway, residents have been urged to sign up their home surveillance cameras with the department to help uncover any additional evidence.
