Bay Point Road Work: Temporary Delays for Future Mobility Improvements in Contra Costa CountySource: Contra Costa County's Public Works Department

Contra Costa County's Public Works Department has scheduled road work along North Bailey Road, between State Route 4 and Willow Pass Road, from October 19 to October 20. This will hopefully lead to improved roads and mobility in Bay Point.

During this operation, eight geotechnical borings will be performed within the roadway. This work will be done during daytime hours — 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, weather allowing. The construction activities will cause temporary disruptions to traffic, with possible delays of up to five minutes near the work area, per the Contra Costa County's Public Works Department.

These interruptions, while seeming inconvenient to daily commutes, are aiming for a greater good. The geotechnical borings will aid in a future road improvement project on North Bailey Road.

This road improvement to be undertaken is funded by the State’s Active Transportation Program, Bay Point Area of Benefit funds, and Gas Tax funds. The collaboration among these funding sources underlines a joint investment in advancing infrastructure in service to Bay Point residents.
