On Saturday, October 7, a boating incident happened involving two minor children. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, the event occurred at Park Moabi on the Colorado River, where a boat caught on fire, injuring a 5-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy.

The boat, a blue and white Mastercraft ski boat, left the beach at campsite 15 and was heading south on the Colorado River. According to  the report, approximately 30 seconds later, an explosion erupted from the engine compartment. Nearby jet skiers helped to put out the flames.

Both children suffered non-fatal burns to their lower extremities. The young girl was airlifted to Sunrise Medical Center for treatment.
