Boston Welcomes New American Tavern: The Autograph Opens in AndoverSource: Google Street View

Boston welcomes a fresh addition to its dining scene with The Autograph, a newly opened American tavern at 89 Main Street in Andover. Occupying the place once serving as Smythe & Dove Steak and Dakota Bar, The Autograph will offer American fare during lunch and dinner hours. Boston Restaurant Talk reports that the establishment is operational and set to serve patrons.

The Autograph is brought to Andover by restaurateur Paul LaRosa and his crew, the family of previously established culinary successes like Privé, La Fina, and LaRosa’s. It was around the start of the year when the plans for The Autograph were reported in an Andover News article. Following the approval of its liquor license from the select board on August 15, the restaurant went through the pre-opening inspection by September 22, with a hiring fair happening in the same period.

With an ideal location, The Autograph aims to blend the sports bar ambiance with the allure of traditional pub food. Co-owner and manager, Michael Cammarata, plans to hire up to 40 staff for the new location, as stated in an Andover News report.

The history of the current location traces back to Andover Bookstore's tenure before Smythe & Dove's establishment in 2019. The bookstore had relocated to 74 Main Street in August 2017. The Autograph, inheriting this historical site, pledges to offer an exemplary service combined with a memorable dining experience for its patrons.
