A couple in Contra Costa County potentially faces a lifetime sentence following their conviction in the death of their 5-week-old son. Yesterday, Rayray Andrederral Darn and Marilyn Northington were convicted of involuntary manslaughter, assault on a child under eight causing death, and child abuse with an additional accusation of willful harm resulting in death. The sentencing by Judge Terri Mockler is scheduled for December 15, according to the Contra Costa County news.

In a series of shocking events, it was found that on February 4, the pair's actions led to their infant's demise at a hotel in Richmond. A hotel employee alerted the authorities after noticing Darn and Northington hastily left their room with their unresponsive infant.

Upon further investigation and autopsy, it was revealed that the baby had succumbed due to injuries inflicted by his parents. Other findings included various severe physical injuries, malnutrition, dehydration, and a positive test for methamphetamine.
