Mountain View, California is set to inaugurate its 45th park, Fayette Park, on Wednesday, October 18 at 4 p.m. This addition aims to provide an urban green space and public art venue to the local community, as per the City of Mountain View.
Situated at 2630 Fayette Drive, the 0.45-acre park is the fruitful result of dedication by developer group Prometheus, who also developed the adjacent Dean Apartments. Fayette Park features include a lawn, a play area with seat walls, picnic tables, and benches. Distinguishing the Park is an unforgettable installation of public art by artist Colin Selig, notably two playful sculptures of grazing squirrels and a lizard, intended to inspire visitor interaction, as mentioned on the Mountain View City website.
Interestingly nestled beside Fayette Park happens to be the Fayette Greenway, a linear park of approximately 1.3 acres owned by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission. Despite being entirely distinct in their offerings, the parks' proximity to each other affords visitors a broad spectrum of recreational choices.
