From October 2 to 8, Newark Police Department navigated through numerous criminal cases within their jurisdiction. Records of these events are available on the Newark Police Department site. Their engagement is committed to maintaining safety and order in the city.

On October 2, a 29-year-old local faced arrest for issuing criminal threats on Jarvis Avenue. Likewise, a 33-year-old man was arrested on grounds of a misdemeanor warrant but was released immediately at the scene. 

October 3 presented an investigation into a commercial burglary on Newpark Mall Road. Later on Wednesday, the same area experienced a notable event with the arrest of a 30-year-old woman for commercial burglary. 

As the week rolled out, more arrests followed. A 41-year-old man caught for possession of drug paraphernalia gave evidence of the city's struggle with drug misuse. Simultaneously, a 21-year-old was arrested by Major Crimes Task Force Agent Damewood under a felony warrant involving stolen vehicles and possession of stolen property.

The attention once again returned to Newpark Mall Road on October 6, when a 59-year-old woman faced arrest for theft and a warrant. On the same day, a 24-year-old from Union City was charged with battery and resisting arrest. 

On Saturday, local law enforcement placed a 26-year-old resident in Santa Rita Jail for a misdemeanor warrant with Officer Johnson handling the case around Newpark Mall Road. In addition, Officer Soto arrested a 31-year-old individual for breaking a restraining order and meeting outstanding warrants.

Closing the week, on Sunday, the Newark Police Department probed into a carjacking case on the 36800 block of Sycamore Street. While the vehicle was returned from Hayward, the case remains open.
