The incident occurred on October 28, on Redwood Blvd., where 53-year-old Cary Newman was caught after setting off a self-created device similar to a large bottle rocket that led to a bushfire, the Novato Police Department reports.

After successfully managing to put out the fire, the officers arrested Newman. He currently faces several charges, including starting an unlawful fire, possession of controlled substances, and having unlawfully manufactured fireworks.
