Located in proximity to Jack London Square, the Irish-themed establishment has capitulated to growing supply and labor costs as well as escalating crime rates, despite being a local and visitor favorite, according to KTVU.

The pub owners in a sincere statement on the Slainte Pub and Grub website conveyed that even with their hard work, the financial numbers became unworkable, compelling them to cease operations amidst a period which witnessed numerous small business closures. The owners hold a glimmer of hope that a new torchbearer with an affection for Irish hospitality might someday continue the legacy of Slainte Pub and Grub.
