On the evening of October 6th, 2023, a case of mistaken identity led to an altercation at In-N-Out on 949 Veterans Boulevard in Redwood City that ended in injuries and arrests. The incident involved four individuals, including a minor, as reported by Redwood City Police Department.

The event started when a pair of adults armed with a metal pipe mistakenly accused a group of young individuals of prior involvement in a robbery. The elders assaulted multiple persons with the pipe. It was this melee, that induced the victims attempt to defend themselves which led to excess of necessary force.

The ensuing mayhem led to several of the people sustaining severe injuries. Thankfully, all the injured persons have since been discharged from the hospital.

The Redwood City Police Department has in response, to, the event, arrested three adults and one minor. The adults are Marco AmbrizRangel (18), Jesus Bustos (47), and Juan Carlos Guerrero Cabrales (41) of Redwood City, along with a 17-year-old male. The adults are held at San Mateo County Jail while the minor is at the San Mateo County Youth Services Center. The charges the suspects face include felony assault with a deadly weapon, felony child abuse with possible serious injury, and felony conspiracy as per Redwood City Police Department.
