Today, a crossing guard was seriously injured after being struck by a midsize SUV at the intersection of Vineyard Avenue and Adams Way in Pleasanton. The Pleasanton Police Department is currently investigating and is encouraging potential witnesses to provide any relevant information.

The driver involved remained at the site and is actively contributing to the investigation. At this time, indications of alcohol, drugs, or distracted driving have not been identified as contributing factors in the Pleasanton Police Department police report.

The City of Pleasanton works in cooperation with Pleasanton Unified School District to enhance traffic safety around schools. This involves traffic enforcement, community outreach programs, educational initiatives, and ensuring the presence of crossing guards at key school intersections.
