Yesterday, a mountain biker on the Buckeye Trail at Skyline Park was found unconscious. Swift action from various emergency response agencies, including Fire, Napa County Fire, AMR Napa County, and REACH 3, was paramount in ensuring timely support.
CHP Golden Gate's official Facebook account reported that a search and rescue helicopter, H-30, swiftly located the biker on a steep single-track trail.
A helicopter crew member was lowered into the accident site while ground crews hiked the trail to provide immediate aid. With efficient coordination, the injured biker was hoisted off the trail and airlifted to the Skyline horse arena.
The victim was then transferred to REACH and flown to a local trauma center for additional treatment.
