In the early morning hours of October 7, a police officer flagged down a car near Orchid and Hawthorn for what appeared to be a simple equipment violation.

It became apparent during the traffic stop that the underage occupants of the vehicle possessed marijuana. The officer then conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered two loaded firearms, according to the Fairfield Police Department.

The officer arrested the two male occupants, each 17, and immediately transported them to Juvenile Hall.
