Last Thursday, a senior citizen shopping at a Gilroy Safeway fell prey to two thieves targeting her wallet resting in her cart.
Employing a strategy of distraction, the male suspect initiated a conversation with the victim. While she was engaged as documented in the Gilroy Police Department's Instagram post last Saturday, the female thief discreetly pilfered the woman's wallet from her purse. The culprits then attempted to use the stolen cards at a local Walmart.
The Gilroy Police have since asked for public aid in identifying the pair. They've released a series of photos via their official Instagram page, imploring anyone with potentially useful information to reach out to Cpl Larkin.
