Yesterday, a pedestrian was hit by a SMART train in Rohnert Park, California. As per the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety, a bystander immediately alerted 911 about the incident on Golf Course Drive near Commerce Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered the 42-year-old male victim dead at the scene.

The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety, Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART), and the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department stayed at the scene to investigate the collision. Investigation notes indicated that the crossing gates were down, red lights were flashing, and all warning signal equipment appeared to be functioning correctly at the time of the accident.

The investigation is in progress, with the victim's identity being withheld pending informing his immediate family. The Sonoma Marin Area Rapid Transit or the Sheriff's Office can provide additional information on the case.
