Santa Rosa Police Bust Meth Trafficking NetworkSource: Santa Rosa Police Department

Yesterday, the Santa Rosa Police Department Narcotics Team executed several search warrants. The operation resulted in arrests for possession of controlled substances for sale and weapons violations. This was part of an extensive investigation initiated in January, focusing on a Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO) accused of large-scale distribution of methamphetamine in Santa Rosa and other nearby areas, as stated in an official statement posted on the Santa Rosa Police Facebook page.

Initially, detectives made a traffic stop in accordance with a search warrant, that led to the arrest of a 25-year-old suspect, named Baltazar Gonzalez-Jimenez, from Modesto. They discovered roughly 6.6 pounds of what is believed to be methamphetamine in his vehicle. The authorities then booked Gonzalez-Jimenez into the Sonoma County Jail. He was charged with possession and transportation of a controlled substance for sale.

Upon his arrest, detectives proceeded to serve a search warrant at a Santa Rosa residence on Montecito Bl. Findings included an estimated 4.4 pounds of supposed methamphetamine, clean packaging materials, and several digital scales inside a bedroom closet. Although the suspect associated with the residence, Kenin Tobar y Tobar, aged 22, was absent at the time of the search, the case will be forwarded to the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office.

Another search warrant was then executed at the 600 block of W. Sierra Ln in Cotati. Detectives uncovered a fully automatic short-barreled rifle, about 1.5 ounces of what is suspected to be methamphetamine, and ammunition in a trailer. Two convicted felons linked to the trailer, 30-year-old Luis Lango-Lozada, and 27-year-old Jorge Luis Gonzalez-Vasquez, were taken into custody. Both were subsequently charged with multiple violations regarding weapons and controlled substances, in addition to probation violations.
