Hawaii's popular dessert shop, Ululani's Shave Ice, is set to launch its first Bay Area outlet in Livermore on November 11. The brand is known for its aromatic array of over 40 syrup flavors, which include cane sugar, fruit juice, and fruit puree comprising their iconic Hawaiian-style shave ice.

As per David Yamashiro, Co-founder and CEO of Ululani’s Shave Ice, expansion plans to the Bay Area were two years old. San Francisco was the initially considered site, however, its chiller ambient temperature led to exploring alternatives. Yamashiro appreciated Livermore's pleasant weather, referring to the encouraging response their Stockton outlet received, observed in long customer queues and soaring temperatures after its grand opening, reported The San Francisco Chronicle.

The brand announced the opening of its Livermore location, inviting locals to the event at 3016 W Jack London Blvd, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Despite the already boiling mainland market, Ululani's is planning an additional expansion by mid-2024 with San Diego and Los Angeles being the next locations. The cornerstone of the brand's success is arguably the attention to detail in making the perfect Hawaiian shave ice that incorporates flavors like mango, coconut, and passion fruit.

What distinguishes Ululani's from the competition is the usage of locally grown ingredients such as cane sugar. This commitment to quality doesn’t merely enhance the flavor of their shaved ice but also bolsters the local agricultural economy. The brand embraces indigenous Hawaiian elements, thereby helping preserve and promote local cultural heritage.
