A blaze that engulfed a car in a north Austin parking garage on Friday night was swiftly knocked down by firefighters, officials said. The Austin Fire Department was called to a garage at 609 Clayton Lane after reports of a vehicle on fire on the fifth floor, according to CBS Austin.

While the fire was contained without reported injuries, images released by the department showed the vehicle with significant front-end damage. The cause of the fire remains unclear. Austin Fire Info posted that the fire is out, indicating that the emergency teams were then focusing on clearing the area of smoke and wrapping up their on-site operations.

The prompt action by the firefighters ensured that the situation did not escalate, averting a potentially larger crisis within the congested confines of an urban parking structure.
