San Jose Police nabbed three suspected gang members in connection with an August shooting. Adan Villa-Cruz, 18, along with Osmin Matadamas, 23, and Ivan Quezadas, 26, all San Jose residents, were linked to the gang-related assault that took place on the 1500 block of Alum Rock Avenue, as reported by the San José Police Department (SJPD).

The incident unfolded on August 24 when a victim, whose identity remains withheld, reported to a local hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound that was classified as non-life-threatening, the SJPD said. Detectives assigned to the SJPD Gang Investigation Unit trigger a sweeping inquiry, collecting evidence pointing to a gang-motivated attack led by the trio, culminating in the issuance of arrest and search warrants for all three implicated parties. It was a conclusive effort that spanned several months and involved an extensive investigation into the suspects' backgrounds and affiliations.

Law enforcement officials executed a coordinated apprehension operation whereby Matadamas and Quezadas were taken into custody in San José without incident on September 26, according to a statement by the SJPD. Villa-Cruz avoided law enforcement until November 29, when he was arrested by a composite team, including the violent crimes unit, special operations personnel, and the G.H.O.S.T. team.

During the raid of Villa-Cruz's residence, officers uncovered not only illegal narcotics positioned for sale but also live ammunition, spawning additional felony charges against him. Police gathered enough evidence to charge all suspects with assault with a deadly weapon, possession of narcotics for sale, and illegal possession of ammunition; all have been booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail as the investigation continues.
