A juvenile stand-off in Blythe turned bloody last Thursday when a 14-year-old allegedly took a blade to another teen during a heated confrontation. Riverside County authorities rushed to the scene in the sparsely populated enclave after reports of an assault with a deadly weapon surfaced. Sergeant Varon Potter, from the Riverside Sheriff’s Colorado River Station, released a statement noting that the suspect was quickly detained.

The victim, also 14, was found to have been viciously stabbed multiple times. Emergency services rushed to fully tend the wounded youth, who is now said to be in stable condition at a local hospital. The Riverside Sheriff's Department informed that the alleged assailant was promptly booked into Indio Juvenile Hall on charges of attempted murder.
