Pleasanton Family Displaced as Fire Engulfs Home, No Injuries ReportedSource: Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department

A Pleasanton family has been left without a roof over their heads following a blaze that tore through their home late Wednesday night. The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, with backing from the Alameda County Fire Department, responded to the scene at a residence located at 5285 Genovesio Drive, after receiving reports of an attic fire at 10:20 p.m.

Upon their arrival, fire crews were greeted by a plume of smoke billowing from the attic of a double-story family home. The fire had extended into the master bathroom and closet on the upper level, according to a post by the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department on Facebook.

The firefighters sprang into action, managing to contain the fire in about 25 minutes, as per statements by LPFD Battalion Chiefs Kurtis Dickey and Dan Moyles. "The fire was quickly extinguished," the department's Facebook update noted, with crews staying behind to extinguish hot spots and salvage what they could of the family’s valuables.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident; neither residents nor firefighters sustained harm. In spite of the moderate damage inflicted on the second floor, the family of four now faces the challenge of rebuilding their lives in the aftermath of the fire's destruction. The cause of the inferno remains a mystery at this point, though Battalion Chief Moyles, in a statement obtained by Patch.com, mentioned that the fire is not being treated as suspicious.
