The Austin Fire Department was called to the scene of a car fire in northeast Austin Sunday afternoon that also threatened a nearby house. Fire crews arrived at around 12:30 p.m. to the 9905 block of Randall Drive, after reports of flames spreading from a car in the front yard to the residence, according to CBS Austin.

Traffic advisories were issued with officials urging drivers to avoid the area to help facilitate the department's response and operational efforts.
Later in the day, an update that the fire was out, adding that crews were "checking for and extinguishing extension into the home." This quick response limited the damage that could have impacted the house further and ensured that the situation was under control, as per the Austin Fire Info.
