Knoxville Couple's Solar System Finally Operational After 2-Year Ordeal, Solar Titan Under Federal ControlSource: Google Street View

After a protracted struggle and a failed launch with Solar Titan, a Knoxville couple's solar panels are now operating at full capacity, a long-awaited victory in a saga that has dragged on for over two years. Fred and Penny Augustine, who originally shelled out $42,500 for the system in the summer of 2021, have dealt with a solar setup that was supposed to reduce their energy costs but instead caused ongoing headaches, as detailed in a WATE report. "It states the charge of the battery. We're at 64.5 percent, and it continues to go up," Fred told WATE, indicating a tangible improvement.

Their ordeal may serve to caution others to carefully consider their options before going solar. Technicians had to incredibly work for five hours last week to move the battery cells—the heart of the system—indoors after failing to function properly outside in colder temperatures. These adjustments have finally resulted in a working system, as reported by Ground News, representing a possible end to Augustine's prolonged battle.

Meanwhile, the dark cloud surrounding Solar Titan has grown even larger as federal authorities have taken decisive action against the company. According to a WBIR investigation, Solar Titan USA is now under a federal court order with a receiver appointed over the business. The motion followed extensive reports of dissatisfaction from multiple customers who assert that they've essentially thrown away thousands of dollars on solar systems that were never properly delivered or installed.

"There is good cause to believe that immediate and irreparable harm will result from Solar Titan Defendants’ ongoing violations of the Consumer Financial Protection Act... and other state and federal laws unless the Solar Titan Defendants are restrained and enjoined by Order of this Court," Judge Clifton L. Corker stated in his decision. Richard Ray has been subsequently designated to effectively take control of the company’s affairs, aiming to straighten out the tangled web of customer grievances and corporate missteps.
