The green-thumbed crew at Mansfield Texas Parks & Recreation is raking in accolades, snagging a prestigious national accreditation and a slew of state awards for its sterling work in the past year.

At the most recent city council meeting, municipal leaders tipped their caps to the local Parks & Recreation department for bagging the coveted CAPRA accreditation from the National Recreation and Park Association, a laurel worn by a mere sliver of parks departments across America, less than 2%; the staff didn't stop there, they also hauled in five awards from the Texas Recreation and Park Society, including a fifth consecutive Gold Medal.

According to the City of Mansfield Texas, this is the fifth time the team has secured the TRAPS Gold Medal solidifying its reputation for excellence in recreational services and community enrichment.
