Philadelphia's weather takes a dreary turn today with steady rain and a high of just 52 degrees, map out those indoor activities because this soggy weather isn't letting up until the evening. The National Weather Service (NWS) has forecasted "rain and patchy fog before noon" with an overwhelming chance of precipitation at 90%, those looking to keep dry should remember their umbrellas and expect between a quarter and half an inch more of the wet stuff before the day's end, according to the NWS.

Philly's infamous for its fickleness and tonight's no different, the chance of rain lingers mainly before midnight, yet clouds will start to scatter, and temps will take a dip to a chillier 39 degrees with northwest winds blowing at a brisk 10 to 15 mph, enough to make you hold onto your hats, folks. Transitioning into Friday, folks can dust off their sunglasses for a change because it's all sun and clear skies with climbing temperatures near 55 degrees, albeit "breezy, with a northwest wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph," NWS reports. So, while the jackets can stay on, the rain boots can finally take a break.

Don't get too snug in that spring fever yet, though, Saturday's bound to mix things up once again with a chance of showers after 3pm despite mostly sunny conditions and highs flirting with the 60-degree mark but keep those plans flexible since the weather's known to shift on a dime around here. As the weekend rolls on, the chance of rain pops up again Sunday night, potentially disrupting any late weekend plans or midnight strolls.

Looking ahead, the workweek might start on a damp note with a 50% chance of rain on Monday and that probability shooting up to a wet and likely 70% come Monday night. But it's Tuesday that aims to soak us to the bone, with constant rain and "a high near 57," says the NWS, The rain's set to persist into both Tuesday night and a rather blustery Wednesday, where chances of precipitation hover around the 60-70% threshold and temperatures remain steady in the mid-50s.

Sometimes the weather report reads like a broken record around here, but to stay ahead of Mother Nature's curveballs, keep an eye on local forecasts and updates straight from the NWS. Philadelphia may be in for a soggy spell, but the city's no stranger to weathering a storm, or a few back-to-back ones at that.
