An eighteen-year-old was caught with a loaded gun in his car by Worcester Police officers, according to authorities. The Gang Unit officers were on routine patrol on March 27 when they spotted a Mitsubishi cruising past a red signal at Endicott and Millbury St. around 6:15 PM.

Officers stopped the vehicle on Ward St and approached the suspect, identified as Govanie Molina from E Kendall St. The Worcester Police Department reported that officers were tipped off about Molina's involvement in threatening individuals with a firearm. He was promptly taken out of the vehicle when they made the traffic stop.

In a surprising find, officers discovered a loaded handgun in the center console, the Worcester Police Department revealed. Without a license to carry firearms, Molina was arrested and is facing a series of charges including Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, and Carrying a Firearm without a License.

Molina was also charged with Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card and Resisting Arrest. The Worcester Police underscored the importance of keeping the streets safer by apprehending individuals suspected of illegal activities involving firearms. Having been pointed at people with the threat to shoot, the gun’s discovery only emphasized the gravity of the situation.

This arrest is part of an ongoing effort by Worcester Police to tackle crime and gang activity in the city. Molina's arrest aimed to send a clear message about the department's zero-tolerance policy against gun violence and illegal weapon possession. Authorities continue to investigate the case and have not disclosed any additional information regarding potential affiliations of Molina to specific gang-related activities.
