Two teens, aged just 14, led Kent Police on a chase early Tuesday morning after an alleged armed robbery. According to the Kent Reporter, the pursuit began after the Police responded to a 911 call around 5:01 a.m., reporting the robbery at a convenience store on West Meeker Street. The caller provided a description and the license plate number of the getaway car, which officers later identified.

The pursuit, which stretched approximately 3 miles, ended on Military Road South. Upon refusing to yield, the teen suspects, driving a stolen vehicle, led officers toward Federal Way. As reported by KIRO 7, authorities attempted to stop them using pursuit intervention techniques and successfully deployed tire spikes with the assistance of Federal Way officers—all in an effort to bring an end to the precipitous escape.

Once the vehicle was stalled, all three young suspects attempted to evade capture on foot. Police apprehended two of the 14-year-old boys soon after they bailed from the car. However, a K-9 team and drone were less successful in locating the third, who vanished like a ghost into the urban sprawl. "The three suspects in today’s robbery are suspected to have committed other robberies and crimes in the area," said the Kent Police in a news release.

Investigations continue as detectives work in tandem with neighboring jurisdictions to flesh out the full extent of the suspects' criminal activities. KATU indicates that the young individuals are suspected in a series of robberies and related crimes in the vicinity, constructing a pattern of behavior that speaks to a possibly deeper well of unlawful exploits.
