Partnered with Once One CommunityUSA, the library's strategy is to stack bookshelves in local barbershops and salons with kid-friendly reads. In a twist combining education with enforcement, Arlington officers joined the program's launch, mingling with residents and promoting dialogue.

During their attendance at Freshstyles and Legacy Barbershops in Arlington's North District, the officers found an opportunity for more than just a trim. Engaging the community, the officers were not just building bridges but fostering an atmosphere of trust, seen in the eyes of the children flipping book pages. "This has also created the ability for our officers to participate and cultivate positive interactions between law enforcement and the community," the Arlington Police Department posted.
