Atlanta police are on the hunt for a man accused of assaulting and robbing an 81-year-old in southwest Atlanta, with the incident reported to have occurred on the morning of March 15. As detailed by FOX 5 Atlanta, the confrontation took place around 10:15 a.m. at a store near Delowe Drive and Alison Court SW.
The suspect initially tried and failed to snatch money from the senior citizen. He then proceeded to brutally attack, forcing the elderly man to the ground before fleeing with $100, as was reported by WSB-TV. The Atlanta Police Department has released surveillance footage in hopes of catching the assailant who is still at large.
Witnesses or anyone with information are being urged to step forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
