A grim discovery was made on Interstate 24 East in Davidson County, Nashville, as the body of a man was found near mile marker 42. The deceased, identified as 46-year-old Tarrance Williams Sr., was confirmed by the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) to have been found on Tuesday, April 23, according to WKRN. Traffic was impacted as the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) cameras captured images of the area showing I-24 East narrowed down to one lane.

Williams had gone missing after being involved in a car crash on Briley Parkway on the night of Monday, April 15. In an unfortunate set of circumstances, after making a distressed phone call to his sister, he disappeared, as reported by NewsChannel 5. This call was the last time Williams was heard from. On Friday, April 19, his sister reported him missing, ultimately leading to the discovery of his body by investigators using cell phone data, lying approximately 20 feet from the pavement down a slight embankment.

Detectives suspect that Williams was a victim of a hit-and-run, as indicated by the lack of evidence that he was on foot at the time of being struck. The Medical Examiner's Office is tasked to determine the exact cause of death.
