In a significant move for the Texas economy, Governor Greg Abbott announced that Crystal Window and Door Systems TX, LTD. will be setting up shop in Mansfield with plans to open an advanced manufacturing facility and regional corporate headquarters. The subsidiary of Crystal Window and Door Systems, LTD., a heavyweight in the national manufacturing industry of energy-efficient windows and doors, anticipates creating 504 new jobs alongside a $121 million injection into local capital. A tidy $3,150,000 in Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) grants has been bagged by the company, which also snagged a $15,000 Veteran Created Job Bonus.

"'Made in Texas' is a powerful global brand, and I congratulate Crystal Window and Door Systems on this significant investment in our great state," Governor Abbott remarked according to a statement released yesterday. He emphasized the competitive edge Texas has in attracting innovative industry leaders, pointing to the impending benefits: hundreds of jobs for Texans and an economic boost for the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Sen. Brian Birdwell praised the move for the opportunities it presents to the citizens and its substantial capital investment in Mansfield

Embracing its largest investment decision to date, Crystal Window and Door Systems found Mansfield attractive for its expansion plans. State Representative David Cook celebrated the arrival of over 500 high-paying jobs and considerable capital investment in his district. With the unwavering support from state and city officials, the company’s establishment in Texas was widely championed. "It's been my sincere honor to work with the Chen Family with Crystal Window, Senator Birdwell, Mansfield City Council, and the Mansfield Economic Development Corporation to bring these opportunities to our community," Cook stated, extending gratitude to Governor Abbott and Executive Director Adriana Cruz for their persistent encouragement of an environment where Texas businesses can flourish.

Founded in 1990, Crystal Chairman and Founder Thomas Chen began with modest operations in New York City but has since built the company into a national manufacturing leader with a presence across the United States. "Our products are used in some of the most notable buildings throughout the nation," Chen told the Governor's office. Crystal President Steve Chen echoes the sentiment, expressing eagerness to help propel the Texas economy with new employment positions, partnering with local builders, and utilizing area services and materials.

The enthusiasm was palpable from local officials as well, with Mansfield City Manager Joe Smolinski endorsing the new facility as a key player in transforming the city into a Texas innovation hub. Mayor Michael Evans put a fine point on it, saying, "This is economic development in action, and it would not be possible without the hard work of city and state staff showing why Mansfield and Texas are where businesses want to be."
