A head-on collision on San Antonio's northwest side claimed the life of one woman earlier today, police have reported. Authorities say the crash occurred near the intersection of Roger Road and Culebra around 1:30 p.m.

The unfortunate incident unfolded when a white car was attempting to make a turn, but was struck head-on by a black Sedan traveling in the opposite direction. The force of the impact caused the white car to quickly spin out and smash into another vehicle. The driver of the white car, found to be an elder woman, succumbed to her injuries after being rushed to the hospital, as per a statement obtained by KENS 5.

The driver of the black Sedan managed to narrowly escape with non-life threatening injuries and is reported to be in stable condition, according to information from FOX San Antonio. They have since been taken to University Hospital for treatment.

While the two cars were primarily involved, a third vehicle somehow became entangled in the chaos. Containing a couple and a child, they were fortunate to have emerged unscathed from the accident. The cause of this catastrophic event remains to yet be determined as local authorities are still investigating the full circumstances behind the tragic occurrence.
