Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on Lakeville Highway Claims Driver's Life, Santa Rosa CHP InvestigatingSource: Google Street View

A tragic multi-vehicle accident on Lakeville Highway claimed the life of a driver yesterday afternoon, according to the Santa Rosa California Highway Patrol (CHP). The fatal collision, involving a Toyota Camry, a Nissan Versa, and a Chevy Silverado, occurred south of Old Lakeville Road #3. Officers are still piecing together why the Camry, journeying northward, failed to slow down for halted traffic. In a desperate maneuver to evade the vehicles ahead, the driver swerved and collided with the Versa before overturning into the oncoming Chevy's path, resulting in a deadly head-on impact.

The force of the initial encounter propelled the Nissan into a Ford Fusion. Passengers of both vehicles suffered only minor injuries and were taken to Petaluma Valley Hospital for treatment. As per a statement shared on the Santa Rosa CHP Facebook page, the Toyota driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The authorities have withheld the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin. The Sonoma County Sheriff Coroner's office will release further details.

Anyone with potentially relevant information has been encouraged to come forward and assist by calling Santa Rosa CHP office at (707) 806-5600.
