Burger aficionados in Studio City, get your appetites ready for a new smash burger joint that has just rolled into town. Heavy Handed, a name that Westsiders might recognize from its first spot in Santa Monica, has officially thrown open its doors at the landmark former Mister O’s location on April 19.

Danny Gordon and Max Miller, the masterminds behind Heavy Handed, have been toiling away to give the space on Ventura Boulevard an eye-catching transformation. Now sheathed in a vibrant orange, with a red graffiti-style logo that's hard to miss, the duo managed to turn a full-service restaurant into a fast-casual hot spot in just three months. According to LA Eater, Gordon sees the move as a clear upgrade, boasting "the things we wish we had in Santa Monica."

The menu features their signature grub like single, double, or triple short rib-based smash burgers, tallow fries, and sodas. Adding to the sweetness of the deal, a selection of soft serve—either plain or dipped in flavors like Funfeetti and chocolate—is in the plan. There's more in the pipeline too, with a tease of dark chocolate-covered pretzels to be added later.

True to their ambition to shake things up, Gordon and Miller don't stop at food. They’re also entering the cannabis market, launching their brand that found its way to the shelves of Erba in Sawtelle, coinciding with the opening of their Studio City outlet. As reported by LA Eater, Heavy Handed Studio City serves up its creative fare daily from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. at 11838 Ventura Boulevard, Studio City, CA. As for those with a penchant for the ganja-infused goods, they can now pair their munchies with Heavy Handed’s buzz, available as of opening day.
