Two Hendersonville parents are in hot water after their newborn was discovered alone in a locked car outside a shopping area this past Sunday. According to WSMV, the Hendersonville Police Department responded to calls about the 24-day-old baby left in a vehicle that was turned off, and the infant was later taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation.

Luis Suarez, 40, and Olvia Vargas, 36, the child's parents, were nabbed by police while they were shopping, and are now facing charges of aggravated child abuse and neglect, along with charges of leaving a child unattended in a motor vehicle, they were inside a store they were not immediately available to tend to their child's needs, which prompted their arrest. They are scheduled to appear in court on May 13, as reported by FOX 17.

The Hendersonville Police Department, reminding the community of the gravity of such cases, stated that "children and hot cars can be a deadly combination," urging never to leave a child unattended inside a vehicle. They emphasize that parents and caregivers should habitually check the back seat every time they exit their vehicle to ensure no child is left behind.
