Chaos unfolded on the highways of Massachusetts today as state troopers arrested three individuals following a wild pursuit of a stolen vehicle. The Massachusetts State Police Air Wing spotted the stolen Lexus, a 2002 model previously taken from Peabody, tearing through Ashland before engaging in a cat-and-mouse game with multiple law enforcement units.

According to the official Massachusetts State Police news release, the airborne pursuit began at 2 PM as the thieves weaved through several towns. The Lexus sped from Southborough to Westborough and onto Rt. 495 Northbound before cleverly doubling back in Bolton, challenging the authorities' efforts to corral them.

The pursuit intensified as the suspects hit Rt. 290 with the cops on their tail. Massachusetts State Police laid down stop sticks between Solomon Pond Rd and Green St—a move that finally halted the rogue vehicle, which crashed into another car and came to a stop in the median strip. Fortunately, the collision with an innocent motorist did not result in any injuries.

Shortly after the crash, troopers swarmed the site and detained the three occupants of the stolen Lexus. "Numerous Troopers converged on the scene and secured the three occupants of the stolen vehicle," stated the Massachusetts State Police in their account of the incident. Two suspects suffered minor injuries and were transported to UMass Medical Center, while a juvenile was taken to the State Police-Leominster Barracks for booking

Further investigation uncovered that the stolen Lexus had been involved in another collision earlier during its haphazard escape, crashing into two other vehicles on the ramp from Rt. 495 S to Rt. 290 W in Marlborough. As the authorities sort out the tangled mess of events, charges against the suspects are pending, with updates promised as soon as they're available.
