A former Houston restaurant employee, Othello Larenzo Holmes, has been arrested and charged with child pornography. The 27-year-old faces five counts of possession of child pornography, housing hundreds of disturbing images and videos on his phone; some depict children as young as infancy engaging in sexual acts, as reported by FOX26 Houston.

Authorities began investigating Holmes after an incident at Kulture, where he previously worked as a cook. Management had provided a disturbing video showing Holmes putting his genitals on food, the restaurant had not served any patrons with the contaminated food, items in question were discarded, and the employee was fired as "these actions were implemented within one hour of the incident being brought to our attention," the restaurant told ABC13.

During the investigation, Holmes gave authorities consent to search his phone, leading to the discovery; this prompted Rosen to address the media about the severity of the case, "The things I have seen, and the behavior I have seen, it's very disturbing," Constable Alan Rosen told ABC13, "This individual is a predator."

Holmes, who is being held in jail on a bond totaling $500,000, has a troubling history with sexual offenses. He told investigators that he "has these urges frequently and has a history of sexual offenses" and that he "needs help." His case has sparked fears of potential past abuses. Rosen worries that Holmes had multiple girlfriends, some with children, who may be among the victims in the images. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Precinct 1 Constable's Office at 713-755-7628, according to FOX26 Houston.

The restaurant's swift response has been to bolster the security measures, throwing away all products in the kitchen and enhancing their camera systems, while the constables delve into Holmes' past work history, worried about the extent of his actions and the safety of potential victims. Holmes is due to appear in court on June 6, 2024.
