Houston Man Damien Gonzalez Faces Multiple Felony Charges After Identity Deception AttemptSource: Facebook/Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4

Charges are piling up for a man nabbed by deputies after he tried to pull a fast one and hide his identity. The suspect, who was caught fiddling with residential surveillance cameras, gave law enforcement officials a fake name and birth date, according to authorities.

Deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office showed up at the scene in the 11000 block of Grant Road on April 24 following a call about a suspect tampering with cameras. When officials approached, the man tried to dodge the law by concealing his real identity. But police were not fooled for long, and their scrutiny unveiled the truth. They were able to identify him as Damien Gonzalez; a suspect wanted on several serious felony warrants.

In an encounter that shows the persistence of law enforcement, the deputies verified his identity and discovered that Gonzalez was wanted for Injury to an Elderly Person, Possession of Controlled Substance, and Violation of Bond Conditions, as described in a Facebook post by Constable Herman's Office.

Following his arrest, Gonzalez was slapped with an additional charge for failing to reveal his true identity to the deputies. "Damien Gonzalez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the open warrants and charged with Failure to Identify court information has not been set.", a statement by Constable Mark Herman.
