The Houston Police Department has nabbed 53-year-old Guadalupe M. Rodriguez, the suspect in a recent shooting that left a woman critically injured at a bar on North 76th Street. Rodriguez, who was wanted on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm, was taken into custody on Tuesday night according to the latest updates from the city's news release.

Details emerged after authorities responded to a call at approximately 9:05 p.m. on Saturday at the said bar, where they found a 39-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds. HPD's Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Sergeant V. Garcia and Detective A. Garcia stated that the victim was promptly transported to an area hospital by Houston Fire Department paramedics, where she remains in critical condition. The assailant had fled the scene before the officers' arrival, leaving them to rely on witness accounts for identification.

Rodriguez was last spotted driving a white GMC Terrain SUV bearing the Texas license plate TKK0506. The breakthrough came when the HPD Eastside Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team, using information gathered during their investigation, located and arrested Rodriguez without incident.
