A Lynwood man suspected of a string of pharmacy burglaries in Ventura County was nabbed by detectives earlier this week. Daniel Godinez, 21, was arrested after Ventura County Sheriff's Office detectives tied him to attempted break-ins at several pharmacies last December, according to a press release from the Thousand Oaks Police Department.

Unable to score any pharmaceutical goods due to beefed-up security, the suspects could only manage forced entries without actually making off with the goods. Arrested at his Lynwood home, Godinez faces burglary charges and was booked into the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility on a $50,000 bail. He was scheduled for arraignment on April 18th, said Sergeant Dillan Alvarez in a statement obtained by the police department's news release.

These incidents first unfolded on December 29, 2023, when the suspects broke into a Simi Valley pharmacy around 3 a.m. The same culprits then tried to hit two more pharmacies in Thousand Oaks within the next hour, a police investigation has revealed.

Following his capture, Godinez is waiting for his day in court at the Ventura County Superior Court. The local police department is urging citizens to keep their eyes peeled and to report anything fishy by calling 911 or the non-emergency line, as stated by Sergeant Alvarez. It seems Thousand Oaks is sending a message loud and clear: see something, say something.

The Thousand Oaks PD has also used social media as a tool in their fight against crime, inviting the community to follow them on platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, and to sign up for Nixle alerts by texting their zip code to 888777. Detective Romario Chavez, contactable at (805) 642-1869, has been handling media follow-up inquiries.

Meanwhile, Ventura County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and a criminal complaint against those responsible for these crimes. Tipsters can remain anonymous in their quest to help make their neighborhoods safer, and, as the police emphasized, the calls to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477) are not recorded.
