Time's up for the Dolphin Company at the Miami Seaquarium as per the eviction notice served by Miami-Dade County. A long-standing conflict over the welfare of the park's marine inhabitants has reached a boiling point, with officials insisting it's lights out for the current operators.

Served on April 22, the eviction compliance is the latest in a string of major splashes the County is making to protect its finned inhabitants. Management has until an undisclosed date to pack up their operations and swim off, leaving the future of the park's beloved sea creatures up for grabs, according to the eviction notice issued by Miami-Dade County officials.

Jointly wading into the troubled waters, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and Commissioner Raquel Regalado issued a statement. "The County continues to believe that the grounds to terminate the lease are still present in order to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the animals currently under their care," they said in a statement published on the county's official website. The public officials are pushing for a smooth and responsible transition, especially for the animals.

In their joint statement, Mayor Levine Cava and Commissioner Regalado expressed hopefulness for a peaceful resolution. "It is our hope that the Dolphin Company takes the necessary steps to vacate the premises, and to ensure that the transition is done in a safe and orderly manner, especially for the animals under their care," expressed the duo, gunning for reassurance that the critters won't be the ones upended in the eviction shuffle. If the company fights the notice, the county will flip the script and take the matter to court, officials warned.
