Michael Aregawi Faces Felony Evading Charge After Wild Vehicle Pursuit by Constable Herman's Deputies in Harris CountySource: Facebook/Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4

A wild chase in the 18800 block of Kenswick Drive led the deputies of Constable Mark Herman's Office on a brief pursuit of a suspect who played hard to catch. Authorities say they tried to pull over a vehicle on April 23, but the driver wasn't having it, opting to lead law enforcement on a merry chase until they could to finally intervene and bring his vehicle to a stop.

The man behind the wheel, however, wasn't ready to give up just yet. He ditched the car and attempted to escape on foot, resulting in a rapid dash that ultimately fell short. The deputies were successful in their chase, catching and cuffing the suspect, identified as Michael Aregawi. According to a Facebook post by Constable Mark Herman, the initial investigation unearthed two open Misdemeanor Warrants for Assault and Criminal Mischief already dangling over Aregawi's head.

The chase may have been brief, but the charges are stacking up for Aregawi. “Michael Aregawi was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the open warrants and charged with Felony Evading in a Motor Vehicle. His bond information has not been set at this time out of the 174th District Court.", a statement by Constable Mark Herman.

Aregawi's motives or reasons for taking the authorities on such a chase remain unclear.
