Missing East Tennessee Woman Found Safe, Ending Search Prompted by Silver AlertSource: X/Tennessee Bureau of Investigation

The search for a missing East Tennessee woman drew to a close Monday night as the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reported that Oretha Kollie had been found safe. A Silver Alert had been issued earlier in the evening by the TBI on behalf of the Jonesborough Police Department after concerns escalated over her whereabouts due to a medical condition that could impair her ability to return safely on her own.

According to WVLT, the 55-year-old Kollie was the subject of a widespread alert that circulated quickly across media platforms, aimed at hastening her safe return. Found safe on Monday night, details about her disappearance and how she was located were not immediately provided by the TBI.

The WATE report announced at 10 p.m. that Oretha Kollie, previously believed missing and possibly in the Memphis area, has been found safe.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Jonesborough Police Department at 423-753-1053 or the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
