A tragic motorcycle accident claimed a life late Wednesday night on Asheville Highway, according to Knoxville law enforcement.

The Knoxville Police Department (KPD) reported to the scene at approximately 10:15 p.m., where an adult male motorcyclist was found deceased. The crash took place in the 6400 block of Asheville Highway, near Rich Road. The devastation unfolded as a motorcycle, traveling eastward, collided with the driver’s side, of a Kia SUV.

Initial findings suggest that the SUV was turning left into opposing traffic from a Domino's Pizza access when the crash occurred. Authorities investigating the incident have pointed to speed as a probable factor contributing to the fatal outcome.
