Napa Police Arrest Vallejo Man After Standoff, Firearm and Illegal Drugs SeizedSource: Napa Police Department

Officers from the Napa Police Department apprehended a man after a tense standoff involving a vehicle that contained suspicious individuals and illegal contraband. The incident occurred yesterday afternoon on the 4400 block of Linda Vista Avenue when authorities were alerted to suspicious subjects in a car.

Upon arrival, the officers discovered three suspects inside the vehicle. The Napa Police Department described that the officers "could see drug paraphernalia in plain view" as they approached the car. Two of the suspects were being contacted by officers when a third person, later identified as Tyler Bingham of Vallejo, made repeated movements toward his waistband, ignoring law enforcement commands.

Bingham's actions escalated as he attempted to start the car and resisted officers' efforts to detain him. The officers managed to subdue Bingham after a struggle and proceeded to take him into custody. During a search, they discovered a handgun with a loaded magazine in his waistband, as well as suspected heroin and methamphetamine.

Further investigation of the vehicle yielded two additional loaded magazines and a high-capacity magazine. Bingham now faces multiple charges and has been booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections.
