Clucking its way into Pleasanton's heart, Chick-fil-A has hatched a new outlet at 4501 Hopyard Road, bringing not just its famous chicken sandwiches but also a clutch of jobs – 35 full and part-time. The grand opening of the third Tri-Valley location was this past Thursday, according to Patch. The restaurant, catering to people looking for dine-in and carry-out options, has decided to forego the drive-thru experience this time.

Alongside offering many dining options, the chain, known for its closed-on-Sunday policy, is making its presence felt beyond the cash register. The new Chick-fil-A location doesn't include the hustle and bustle of a drive-thru this is according to a confirmation by the company, and as Patch reports, the restaurant has tossed $25,000 to help Feeding America distribute meals around the region. It is participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program and doling out a year's supply of free chicken sandwiches to 100 "local heroes" as a tip of the hat for their community contributions.

Local boons flow from this new development as Pleasanton spokesperson Heather Tiernan highlighted several upgrades brought about by the store's arrival, including "a new trash enclosure, a new ADA-compliant sidewalk from Hopyard Road, and a new outdoor patio dining area." Tiernan also shared, in a statement obtained by Patch via Pleasanton Weekly, that the city's traffic engineer gave a thumbs up indicating the restaurant won’t exacerbate traffic snarls or endanger pedestrians.

It's a family affair when it comes to ownership as Aaron Clifford, a Watsonville native, takes the reins of this latest franchise. He is also the proud owner of Pleasanton's other Chick-fil-A outpost, which speaks to his deepening roots in the area – says the chain in a release obtained from their press room. Clifford's investment in the city's fast-food landscape is part of a broader Bay Area crispy chicken conquest, with over 22 locations in the region and this establishment being the newest addition to the Chick-fil-A roost.
