A harrowing chase through Petaluma streets culminated in a traffic stop gone south, resulting in a felony arrest. Petaluma Police Department officers were called into action on April 10 around 6:45 p.m. after receiving reports of a male suspect following a jogger. The accused, Jarod McQueen, was driving a black Ford F-150 and was later spotted by responding officers. Despite an attempted stop, McQueen hightailed it, tearing through the quiet residential areas well over the speed limit.

According to an official release by the Petaluma Police Department, McQueen's escape was short-lived, as authorities found him soon after the initial encounter. Although a subsequent bid to stop McQueen was successful, the adrenaline-pumping chase ended without further ado. The investigation that followed uncovered McQueen's disturbing activities – he had been covertly filming a female jogger and, to add to his list of offenses, was operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

McQueen was subsequently incarcerated at the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility. He faces charges that outline the gravity of his actions: reckless driving, felony evasion of a police officer with utter disregard for safety, and running the roads while boozed up.
