Chaos ensued in a Miramar Publix parking lot when an altercation between two drivers escalated to gunfire. The incident, which took place before 7 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Miramar Parkway and Palm Avenue, saw one man firing at another, thankfully missing his apparent target. According to Local 10 News, the confrontation started over road rage. This shocking event rattled employees and shoppers in what's generally considered a safe neighborhood.

"This right here is definitely shocking, it’s too close to home," Lovely Seraphin, a worker at a nearby salon, told Local 10 News. The supermarket was bustling with people at the time of the shooting, but no bystanders were injured during the disturbing episode. Miramar authorities quickly cordoned off the area with yellow crime scene tape, leaving a sedan in the center of the unrest, and have launched an extensive search for the shooter, who fled the scene.

As reported by WSVN 7News, the police collected evidence, including a bullet, and honed in on a gray Hyundai Sonata parked within the shopping center's taped-off area. The victim, whose car was towed, was allowed to leave after questioning. A backpack found in the trunk of the Hyundai, belonging to the victim, was also collected by the police.

A manhunt is currently underway for the gunman, with law enforcement urging anyone with information to come forward. The authorities have yet to release what specifically triggered an altercation between the two men. "No one was hit as a result of the gunfire. The suspect fled the scene," a Miramar Police spokesperson conveyed to NBC Miami.
