Robots are taking over Santa Monica, but don't panic, they're just the stars of the upcoming 10th annual Arts & Literacy Festival on April 27. Organizers have announced a packed roster of robotic marvels and family-friendly activities under this year's theme, "The robots are here," as per the City of Santa Monica.

According to the City of Santa Monica, the event, touted as a synergy of education and entertainment, will hit Virginia Avenue Park with an array of digital dance offs and tech displays designed, to keep both kids and adults engaged. Among the highlights, the reDiscover Center's Robot Dance Party is set to groove, while real robots crafted by SaMo Tech Robotics Team showcase their moves. And it's not just about metal and circuits - Santa Monica Public Library is teaming up with the Fire Chief himself, Matthew Hallock, to deliver a robotic-themed Storytime Stage for the literature-loving little ones.

Attendees at the free festival will be treated to Coco, the delivery robot who will be zipping around making special deliveries. To bring an educational spin, Curby the Robot, Santa Monica's eco-friendly educator, will teach the kiddos about recycling. The stage will feature an eclectic mix – from Bot-performances to Mariachi music, courtesy of Santa Monica Youth Orchestra’s Mariachi Ensemble.

Emcee Sean Hill will be orchestrating the fun, ensuring attendees don't miss a beat or a bot. Performances and demonstrations on the Main Stage are sure to enthral, with the WeBreak hip hop dance company and Bollypop engaging audiences in some rhythmic cultural fusion. And for those ready to sway to traditional tunes, Santa Monica Ballet Folklorico promises to deliver with their storied dance steps, the crowd will be transported across the world without leaving the park. as reported by the City of Santa Monica.
